Music is Art Festival 2021

Posted by Chet Atman on

Blossom Buffalo proudly sponsored a stage and village inside of this year’s Music is Art Festival at Buffalo Riverworks.  Music is Art is a very magical festival thrown by Robby Takac of the Goo Goo Dolls for the last 19 years at various locations as a statement towards the old fashion Allentown Art Festival who could not imagine music being a form of art.  The festival has now grown into an almost unbelievable smorgasbord of performers encompassing something mind blowing for all ages.  In true Buffalo fashion, somehow Robby manages to keep the whole thing FREE!

With a little help from our friends, 9 acts performed an array of eclectic music ranging from sound healing to psychedelic jazz.  Artists painted, acted, projected and displayed such amazing pieces, including a Madd Tea Party at the end of the yellow bring road featuring Alice and Dorothy.  Some of WNY’s most talented glass blowers set up a station to Hip Vendors rounded off the village offering their hand made unique wares to the psychedelic community of WNY.  And a giant school bus, painted by Chris Dyer, arrived full of folks ready to party, dancing on top of it, reminiscent of the Merry Pranksters.

The crowd was treated to special performances from Johnny Buffalo, Genesee Ted, Grateful Portal, Dej, Orange Corner, Grub, The Waz, Flash Bam Pow and Soular Plexus.  It was truly incredibly to have all these amazing musicians all on the Blossom Stage!

If you were not able to make it - No worries!  Blossom Buffalo looks forward to creating new unique opportunities for heads in WNY to connect.

Drop by our space at 320 Grote St. And until then, enjoy this incredible video captured by our friend Brittany via the link below.
